PQWL = Pooled Quota Waiting List.
Indian Railways reserves a pooled quota for short-distance journeys that don't include origin or destination — for example, Patna → Lucknow on a Delhi → Howrah train.
Key points:
- Pool is small, so PQWL confirms slowly.
- A PQWL of 5+ rarely confirms.
- If the journey starts/ends at the train's true origin or destination, you'll get GNWL instead.
For important travel, prefer trains where your station is origin/destination/major halt.
