What does CNF mean in PNR status?

CNF means CONFIRMED — your seat or berth is guaranteed. The status shows your coach number and berth (e.g., CNF/B2/45/LB means Confirmed, coach B2, berth 45, Lower Berth).

CNF = CONFIRMED. This is the best possible status — your travel is guaranteed.

A CNF status looks like: CNF/B2/45/LB

  • CNF — Confirmed
  • B2 — Coach number (here, AC 3-Tier coach 2)
  • 45 — Berth number
  • LB — Lower Berth (other codes: UB Upper, MB Middle, SL Side Lower, SU Side Upper)

If you see CNF, no further action is needed. Reach the boarding station 30 minutes before departure with valid photo ID.
