TQWL = Tatkal Quota Waiting List (also called CKWL — Critical Karent Waiting List).
Tatkal is the same-day premium booking opened 24 hours before departure. If all Tatkal seats are taken when you book, you go on TQWL.
- TQWL has a lower confirmation rate than GNWL because Tatkal seats are a small fixed pool.
- TQWL passengers do not get an upgrade if a regular ticket is cancelled — only other Tatkal cancellations clear TQWL.
- If TQWL doesn't clear, the e-ticket auto-cancels but Tatkal charges are non-refundable.
Tip: book Tatkal exactly when the booking window opens (10 AM for AC, 11 AM for non-AC) for best confirmation chances.
