What does Flushed PNR mean?

Flushed PNR means the PNR record is no longer in IRCTC's active system, usually because the journey was completed days ago or the ticket was cancelled long back. PNR data is retained only for ~9 months.

Flushed PNR = the PNR has been removed from active records.

Reasons:

  • The journey was completed more than 9 months ago.
  • The ticket was cancelled and the record purged.
  • IRCTC retains PNR data for only ~9 months for active queries.

Implication:

  • You cannot check status of a flushed PNR.
  • For old journey records, contact IRCTC customer support.
  • For warranty / claim purposes, retain ticket PDF / booking email.

If you see "Flushed PNR" for a recent booking, double-check the PNR digits — most likely a typo.
