What does RLWL mean in PNR?

RLWL (Remote Location Waiting List) is for bookings from intermediate stations that have their own quota. RLWL passengers get upgraded only when an RLWL passenger from the same remote location cancels.

RLWL = Remote Location Waiting List.

Some trains have small dedicated quotas at intermediate "remote location" stations (mostly to ensure those stations get a fair allocation). When that quota fills up, additional bookings go to RLWL.

  • Confirmation chance is lower than GNWL.
  • Only cancellations from the same remote location quota clear RLWL.
  • Often seen on long-distance trains.

If you have flexibility, choose origin station booking to get GNWL instead.
