Important update: The 50% (women 58+) and 40% (men 60+) senior citizen fare concession was suspended in March 2020 and has not been restored.
However, the Senior Citizen Quota still exists:
- Reserves a small number of lower berths per train.
- Priority for passengers aged 60+ (men) and 58+ (women).
- Mention age during booking.
- Carry valid age proof (Aadhaar, PAN, etc.) at travel.
Quota size is limited (~6 lower berths per train in SL/3A class).
